Klan Man and the Obama Poster

Recently, I found a great incentive to get into serious
exercise. Of course I already have one, which is to Stay Alive.
However, I found a better one when I helped out at the DAV booth in the park on July 5th.

When I walked around during the slow time I bought an Obama Poster and walked past the booth and put it on the driver’s side window of my car.

It was nowhere near the booth. I barely got back to the booth and sat down when a fellow working his lunch truck a little ways off came over and told me that someone would bust my window with that sign in it, that Obama was a Moslem and a lot of other garbage.

I come unglued under fire but did not get up and get in his face since he didnot say he would break my window, Instead, I fired off the a really terrible verbal barrage of missiles. Two other DAV guys joined in the barrage and the guy retreated.

After awhile I left to make some flyers to put out about our need for DAV drivers. When I came back another DAV member who I highly admire had sat down to help at the booth. He happened to be black and another black
guy who I have seen but don't know had also arrived. I sat down by my friend. The lunch truck guy was really glaring now. It was as though I could read his mind and his prejudice.

After awhile I left again to distribute some flyers away from the park and to visit another black friend who helps me distribute flyers. When I told him about the incident at the DAV booth, he said the Klan was strong in Pahrump.

This idea so infuriated me. I decided to go back to the park one more time and walk past this guy and see if he would make a move against me. Seeing as I am 74 with a number of health problems, I made what may seem like a foolish decision. I was so enraged that I did not care that a fight with this much younger and strong looking guy would probably mean my death. It was crazy, but maybe I thought of it as a good way to die. I looked directly into his eyes when I walked past him and he started again with his insults.

I stopped and said, "Hey Klan man where is yourcloak and hood that you usually hide behind.

He did not make a move toward me, and we traded a few more insults. I ended up getting the last word and making an impression on him though.

When he first came to the DAV table and started everything, he mentioned he had a son fighting in Iraq. My final words to him were, "While your son is fighting for freedom in Iraq, why are you trying to destroy freedom here.”

He could not answer that and I walked back to the booth.

How I would love to really get into shape and challenge that guy to make the first move. It is probably impossible. Even my fingers feel like they are all getting arthritis in most of the fingers on both hands. Maybe I could like Samson be granted my strength back one more time.

Death of Nine Requires New Strategy

Following the death of nine American Soldiers both Us and Afghan fighters have retreated from the remote outpost where the guerrilla attack occurred.. The guerrillas then easily drove out the small police force in the nearby village of Wanat..

The attack which occurred on July 13 by a force of 200 enemy fighters were well armed. with, rocket-propelled grenades. Machine guns and and mortars were also used which resulted in the greatest loss to our troops in Afghanistan in three years..

Some commentators say that the forces of militant Islam are now gaining a dangerous level of strength due to the tie down of American Forces in Iraq..

My own analysis of this situation is that we must use a new strategy.. Due to the mountainous nature of Afghanistan we cannot fight the easy war we fought in Iraq. The powerful forces of the Russian Army could not gain victory there after years of warfare. Although we were able to gain a quick defeat of the Taliban previously, the overextension of our forces in Iraq has now allowed a great build up of Moslem extremist in the country that should have been our focus.

The strategy I suggest now is not a strategy I like for it is brutal.but it is our only hope.. We must make a strategic withdrawal of our forces in Iraq and allow the Iraqis to have their civil war and kill each other. We must instigate a renewal of the war between Iraq and Iran ( This may occur automatically by our withdrawal) At opportune moments we must strike again at insurgents.in Iraq using planes, missiles and commando forces to strike and retreat. We must use strike and retreat tactics in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

This the is the same tactic that insurgents (guerrilla's) use so effectively and was much of our tactics in the Revolutionary war. This is what the insurgents in Iraq are doing now, laying low so that we may believe our surge has worked. They will be hitting us again at our weakest point just they did in Afghanistan. Occupation of a country is a strategy of defeat. Hit and run is the key to success.
